Effect of Yoga and Spirituality on Creativity

Things that make our thought process creative and innovative are those that bring in feelings of doing something good without any expectation of getting something in return and sharing one`s feelings & thoughts along with others to promote feelings of togetherness and actions thereof to be beneficial to the society and community.
Creativity needs to be developed though it is an inborn human behaviour as evident in babies and children. Concentrating the mind to think quietly is one of the fastest and most successful ways of touching the creative peak.
Yoga practices (asanas and pranayama) remove lethargy in body and dullness of mind which augment positive physical and mental activities.
Spirituality incorporates physical, mental, intellectual and emotional clarity in our body and mind. When we have clarity, there is joy, harmony and bliss. Then everything, every thought is spontaneous.
Yoga and Spirituality help in achieving a calm and stable state of mind to expand our horizons for creativity.
To narrate my experience, after my involvement with yoga I could channelise my thought process in creativity to write my article Involvement with Dhrti Yoga published first in the blog of http://www.dhrti.com on 5th March 2010 and leading the spiritual life of a Shirdi Sai Baba devotee I wrote my article How I became Sai Baba devotee published in the blog http://www.saishraddha.wordpress.com on 16th March 2010.

When I felt that Yoga and Spirituality have become the way of my present life, I needed to express my creative thoughts in media independently as an author. To change my role from contributor to that of an author I created my own blog yoganspirituality. wordpress. com titled Yoga and Spirituality |A way of life on 2nd May 2010.For drafting, editing and publishing an article as an author I had to acquire the knowledge and skill of information technology at the age of sixty plus in my post retirement life.
I have first posted all five articles written and contributed by me published in March and April 2010 in the blog of dhrti.com and saishraddha.wordpress.com and two articles published in medical professional website medtitans.com on 7th April 2010 & 1st May 2010 on creating my own blog https://yoganspirituality.wordpress.com titled Yoga and Spirituality | A way of life on 2nd May 2010 as an author and then onwards my three new articles were drafted, edited and published by me in my blog during May 2010. I desire to publish at least 2-3 articles every month in my blog. I hope, sharing my feelings & thoughts along with the readers and viewers of my blog will promote feelings of togetherness and actions thereof to be beneficial to the society and community.

    Dear Dr. Panda,
It is indeed heartening to see the effort you are putting at this age. It is an example for the old people.

Old generation has a wealth of experiences, which might not have been written down in the past. Electronic media presents a vast oppurtunity to put it in record for the benefit of others. It also offers forums for interaction.

I agree with you that both yoga and spirituality have so many advantages. It combines physical exercise with mental exercise, relaxation techniques and above all submission.

Physical exercise part in yoga involves muscles, which are not routinely used. It does not need any machines. All muscles get rejuvenated, which is vital in old age. Exercise gives many positive stimuli to both body, mind and endocrinal system.

Mental focussing, concentration, also exercise our mind in focussing. Targetted action can be acheived only by a focussed mind.

Image of yoga automatically gives suggestions to our mind to keep on the side of positive virtues of life. Strength of all imprints on our mind is directly proportional to the attention given, duration spent on a particular idea.

The virtues of spirituality & yoga are innumerable.
How much we can benefit from this depends entirely on us.

  4. Debashish Panda says:

Very nice article; inspirational for people to take up the discipline of yoga.

According to Sri Aurobindo, the conscious practice of yoga leads to the evolution of human consciousness to the levels of being intuitive and illumined, where creativity flows directly as divine inspiration.

The article very clearly brings out the essence of conditions required for creativity; hopefully it will inspire some to derive the enormous benefits of yoga and be creative.

Wish you all the best in your creative endeavour.

  5. Niranjan Panda says:

    Dear Sir,

I think you will strongly agree with me that:
    Concentration gives birth to Creativity.
Creativity when compounded with confidence gives rise to Techniques
and Techniques practised honestly becomes Skill.

    Sir,

The content of topic ‘Effect of Yoga and Spirituality on Creativity’ is an excellent guide and inner significance for emancipation of life. Really with application in day to day activities one enters into a field and gets a way of esoteric life, and forgets time from dawn to dusk of nature and his toes to head. His vision becomes so widened and equilibrium that body, mind and spirit function as one unit. He remains very punctual for further perfection and moulded himself & blessed as Superman. By virtue of spiritual power endowed with, he melts the heart of all and drags them with a rope of love to make dance as per direction. This is called Unity in Diversity. The process of life style is now changed and degraded a lot; but yet your benign initiation may contribute a little upliftment. Many thanks God may bless you for innovative addition to blog of yoga and spirituality. Everybody should understand to catch up tail even if drags to reach the abode of destination and tunes with the blown-flute of Divine. As such one follows and manages time and age like Dr.M.C.Panda.

Oh: man, realize body is Jantra for proper handling, heart is Tantra for proper caring, then get feel a Mantra that is SOHAM (That I Am ) emerged from heart and is dissipated through the body. Further I utter and express that Science means to search with strides and ends with invention of events of nature whereas in contrast Spiritualty by Yoga ends with events of creation of Divine.

So at last I end with dictum:
Please integrate both Science & Spirituality for study and come, see, examine, experience, then practice and get result; later if you so desire preach the same to others and be happy.

These are the events full happening only possible by Effect of Yoga and Spirituality on Creativity.
    Thanking You,
    Your Divine Brother

  12. My most valued friend said,”Creative writing is not like a commercial film containing masalas like song and dance sequences, fights, farce, romance, devotional and sentimental scenes, and melodrama-all in one combo pack. Nor does it aim at attaining the best-seller status as these films boast of achieving membership of 200 or 300 crores club. It is about exploring the layers upon layers of one’s own inner depth and giving expression to the same through chosen words in a most suitable form. Accolades and adulations are of no concern to a creative writer. He gets his reward in ample measure in the shape of a lasting satisfaction within the deep recesses of his being.”

  13. Purnima Panda says:

    Pranam kaka,

After reading your blog I thought you are the example of a person in front of us who merges yoga and spirituality to create creative thought which benefits the society as yoga enhances both the physical and mental power which leads to a person to live a healthy and good life.

  14. Creativity is a gift given to you, in a form that is unique to who you are & where you are.
