Samadhi is spiritual super conscious state. Sadguru can experience effortless spontaneous state of super consciousness by their very nature:Swabhav as in case of Sai Baba as described in Shri Sai Satcharita. When a Saint leaves his body and is capable of remaining in a super conscious state without the body, it is called Maha Samadhi. For Him death is not a process of total annihilation but discordance of body, which He has been occupying to carry on certain duties towards humanity.
As mentioned in Chapter XLII of Shri Sai Satcharita, Sai Baba got a slight fever 17 days before for 2 or 3 days in the previous month, but afterwords Baba gave up his food and thereby grew weaker and weaker. Baba left His mortal coil on 15th October 1918.That day was Vijaya Dashami or Dasara. Hence Maha Samadhi Divas of Shirdi Sai Baba is observed on Vijaya Dashami or Dasara every year. This year, the date is October 17, 2010.

The 92nd Maha Samadhi Day of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba was observed on Dasara Tithi October 17, 2010 in Shri Shirdi Sai Baba Anand Ashram,BTM Lay out Bangalore organised by Sri Sadguru Sainath Seva Samithi.
I attended the Sai Nama Japa ‘Om Sai Sri Sai Jaya Jaya Sai’ from 10 A.M.to 12 A.M.It was followed by Madhyana Arathi.
Annadhana was provided to about 5000 poor, needy persons and devotees. The Annadhana was Shraddha Bhojan with Satwika Ahaar as per rituals of Samadhi Day.
In the afternoon at 5 P.M.,Palanquin Procession was held. Sai Baba was taken in the palanquin from worship place symbolising Samadhi Mandir to the place where the Dhuni: the sacred fire is kept ever burning symbolising Dwarakamayi, and then to Gurusthana where Lord Dattatreya, Lord Vinayaka and Lord Subramanya are worshiped. Then the Palanquin Procession returned to the worship place of Sai.The rituals aroused the spirituality of Maha Samadhi of Shirdi Sai in the mind of devotees.
The Dhoop Arathi was held at 6.15 P.M. as usual thereafter. It was followed by Bhajan Sandhya.
Very informative.

Shraddha & Bhakti (Devotion) modes are an ocean of peace & durable happiness or eternal bliss. One can remain immersed in it round the clock through out life. Love is most harmless mode of living.Only requirement is that the mind has to be blessed by the God Almighty with such a state of mind.
You are among the blessed ones; enjoy the eternal peace & pleasure.

Eventhough Shirdi Sai Baba left his mortal coil (body) 93 years back, we still feel his presence with us everywhere. As he promised: “I shall be ever active and vigorous even after leaving this earthly body”. He is maintaining his words and this will continue till the universe exists. We may miss Sai with his body; but he always is nearby to us in some or the other form, he will always remain in touch with our souls.

Sir,
Good Evening.
I read the article on Maha Samadhi Divas of Shirdi Sai.
I became glad that it is too different between the pictorial sight and the sight in front of the eye sight.I read the article last year, but after Sai Darshan in Shirdi during recent visit, now I am able to know the meaning of what is “Dwarakamai”,What is Samadhi sthal etc.Because physical sight gives much more to learn & experience than the story or picture. What a tremendous and magnificent area of the Sadguru Sai, What a Bhojanalaya ? Sir, keeping to your word I did not fail to visit Dwarakamai.
May Sadguru Sai bless to pay my life & everything at his feet.
Om Sai

Dear Sir,
It’s true that God doesn’t need a body to have an existence unlike human.
One of His sayings:” I shall be ever active and vigorous even after leaving this earthly body”.. He is always with us.

Respected Sir,
Sanatan Dharma (Religion of love ) proclaims that formless God hails of to form as director of Divine drama for restoration of own creation when human falls in prey & forgets his own nature to serve humanity & remains away from God. This form God is nothing but embodiment of Sat-Chit-Anand by nature & called Avatar; because by Him all undone are done for noble purpose & drag to track the human being. Then he understands & realises his duty that is Service to Man is Service to God & ascends to liberation , but by law of nature all are subjected to change & destruction in course of time , then imagine why not to an Avatar. Time is God & waits for none. So God with power of Avatarhood generates incessantly from the place where His mortal coil is buried or burnt & kept as reminiscent in serenity called Maha Samadhi (place of pilgrimage) thronged magnetically to devotee & nondevotee in a large number beyond cast, creed, religion & nation of no boundaries.
There is such place of Shirdi in Maharashtra state where Sai Baba is being worshiped regularly to sustain divine power for whole World as one family. This celebration is intensified on Maha Samadhi Divas to keep transparency of Avatarhood but gradually it is shading away because of ritualistic performance. Hence again Almighty conceptualises to hammer human being with another Avatar that is Sai Baba of Putaparthi .He had imparted & reviewed the Human value & accomplished so many welfare for upliftment of human beings from diversity to unity. It is beyond possible or reachable of any govt. of the World.
So my request all should follow the no.26 verse of chapter 9 of Bhagavad Gita , that means one should take resolve to dedicate body as leave , heart as flower , mind as fruit & ananda ashru (blissful water from ecstatic eyes ) to please God. Further Worship more & share more experience as expressed by Dr.M.C.Panda in his blog of Yoga and Spirituality.
Thanking you,
Your Divine Brother
Dr.B.B.Naik
