The concept of global village in virtual world arises out of the Internet and World Wide Web. On the Internet, physical distance is not a hindrance to the real-time communicative activities of people, and therefore social spheres are greatly expanded by the openness of the web and the ease at which people can search for online communities and interact with others who share the same interests and concerns. Therefore, this technology fosters the idea of a global community. Increased speed of communication and the ability of people to read and react encourage us to become more involved with one another from various social groups and countries around the world. Similarly, web-connected computers enable people to link their web sites together.
It has been 5 years+ of my Internet exposure since I created my ID in G mail on April 15, 2008 which is my first exposure to Internet. I created my own blog Yoga and Spirituality in the website of WordPress.com on May 2, 2010. I registered my name as a user in social networking website Facebook on June 15, 2011. I had my first experience as user of information technology residing in Gurgaon, Harayana (N.C.R. Delhi) being able to connect with other users through internet residing in different places of world in World Wide Web. When I had to relocate to Bangalore subsequently, I need not have to relocate my user name with change of place. I could strongly sense the existence of global village in virtual world when I moved from Bangalore, India to New York, USA as a visitor tourist from July 30, 2013 to October 1, 2013 and could contact other users retaining my user name.
During my recent visit to US from July 30, 2013 to October 1, 2013, on September 28, 2013 I visited The United Nations (U.N.) Headquarters International Territory in New York City. I viewed General Assembly Hall, UN Secretariat & Embassies of different Nations as a visitor to US of Indian Nationality. The General Assembly was in session on the date of my visit. Political Heads participating in discussion of bilateral and international issues, people working in UN Secretariat & Representatives in Embassies of different Nations gave me the feeling of global village in real world in the International Territory of United Nations.
It is needless to say that Yoga and Spirituality has its global presence in moral world.
