Happiness depends on Attitude and State of Mind

Happiness depends on attitude and state of mind. Happiness depends on the attitude to be happy in the worst of circumstances or be miserable with the best in the world. Happiness is a state of mind. When the mind is tranquil, free from agitations, one is happy. When the mind is in a state of constant unrest, there is inadequacy in happiness.

Eradicate desires and reach infinite happiness. If the desire is in line of life`s goal, fulfill the desire. If not, press the delete button. One may reduce desires being inspired by spiritual goals rather than by materialistic goals. Being spiritual, one can be happy independent of worldly matters. Inner enrichment is inversely proportional to dependence on the world. A spiritually evolved person needs little from the world to be happy but has the capacity to command the resources of the world.

You are as happy as you want to be.

  1. Well said. Being happy is a full subject. Every situation may provoke sorrow in a pessimist while an optimist will be happy. Appropriate thinking and situational analysis of every situation that projects gains or positivity is pleasant. Spirituality is one of the ways to pass leisure time or in old age. Limiting desires, hard work leading to socially useful activities, making others happy, doing no harm to anybody, working at full potentials of individual and controlling negative emotions like desires, greed, anger, lust, and arrogance etc are other happiness inducing efforts. Our attitude in adverse situations and our preparedness for such situations helps a lot.

“Eradicate desires and reach infinite happiness”. Though this line has few words but to use in life is very difficult because this era of the people run for materialistic development.Sometimes they are restless for fulfilling materialistic desires in their journey of life. They forget the God.They remember the path of God when frustrated from this materialistic life. “Happiness depends on attitude and state of mind”.The people must be realistic in their life and thought about God which is only the power to give them Real Happiness.Thank you sir for this article in the very beginning of the new year in which people highly use a word Happy.

  4. Respected Sir,

Happiness is the interval between the two sorrows, that’s feeling of mind and the reflection of body. Hence who He makes habit of controls of both then happiness or sorrowfulness have no roles. Then who is He feels bliss ,the eternal joy that pertains complete relaxation to body and mind ; He becomes spirited with serenity called ecstasy. This is happiness derived by body with congenial attitude of mind in way of life adhered to Yoga and Spirituality.

Happiness always looks small when we hold it in our hands,
But when we learn to share it, we realize how big and precious it is.

  6. Wish you happy new year 2015. Happiness is important in life. In Odia Bhagbat it is mentioned-“Sansare thiba jete dina, anande karithiba mana”. In Gita also mentioned that-“A happy mind can think about God”(chapter-2nd).Ashantasya kutah shukham(where is the happiness for non-peaceful !!). You have rightly said-Happiness depends on positive attitude and state of mind.

  7. Kamalakar Pandit says:

Spirituality is the art of living to find inner happiness and joy. The happiness with the theme of spirituality is an inner happiness that does not depend on success in the material world. Spirituality tells us that real inner joy comes not through the fulfillment of our desires but in reducing our desires.

    Respected Brother,

The article Happiness depends on Attitude & State of Mind is very true. Spiritually when mind is controlled, everything will be controlled automatically. Then one does not feel the situation good or bad to him & he will be in a firm state.

    Yours Sincerely,

    Pranam kaka,

Happiness is a state of mind and reaching such a state is what the life journey is all about. Real happiness does not depend upon the amount of wealth and items of luxury one has but upon one’s state of mind. It is said that Alexander was unhappy even after conquering major part of the world since he felt that there was no more world to be conquered. Mental happiness is more important than physical comfort. Physical comfort comes from the material. But material facilities can not provide us with peace of mind.
