Faith in Ourselves and in Power Higher than Us in Moving from Darkness to Light

We must go through problems in life to grow. We must approach all our problems in life as opportunities to grow and learn. We are here to learn lessons; and many more lessons are learnt through defeat than through victory. We are here to win; but often victory is not complete without lessons learnt and no matter how much we wish otherwise, most lessons are learnt through our defeats more than through our victories.

One often goes through a series of hills and valleys while climbing the highest mountain, before one can reach the summit. For that to happen one must keep on moving, navigating the valleys and thorns as a matter of course in order to reach the goal. Let us take life in our stride and deal with whatever situations life has offered to us. No matter how hard it may seem, one can overcome every difficulty or obstacle in the path and climb up to the highest peak of the mountain.

Hard times in life should be learnt to be accepted as an integral part of life but should not lead to unhappiness. Faith in ourselves and in power higher than us is the key element to happiness and through that, moving from darkness to light. When one believes that he will find light, when he believes that the darkness is only a phase, light becomes visible to him soon.

  1. I get confused when somebody talks of victory, defeat, problem or success. It is our attitude towards a situation, which matters. Exam may be felt as opportunity, problem or difficult situation depending upon our attitude. Nobody knows what will happen in future. Failure to fulfil desires may be seen as problem or failure. Life unfolds to depending upon innumerable factors, many of which are beyond our control. One should remain, at least mentally, prepared for any eventuality in life. Life moves every moment and every new moment may bring certain surprize for us. Enjoying every opportune moment should be the aim, target or effort in life. Faith in ourselves and God, do help in all this phenomenon.

  2. Sir,

You topic faith in self and higher-self leads from dark to light is confusing, because faith based life always tends marching forward without feeling of mind and body in a phase of life called ceiling of desire. This is well lighted life having no hindrance on the way where is no questions of up and down in life that one else would time to consider. If at all one endows to think up and down then he has been waved on network called cocoon life, remains in darkness means out of grace and derails; never reaches destination. Birth ends to death with no return delightfully called emancipation of human race as per God’s principle that l have strong faith. As per creation in nature at every moment we are dying means casting out and the created one changed to the movable one which kills the dilapidated mind and be liberated one. How it is: simply start the day with love, continue the day with love and end the day with love ; then see love only in life and life becomes autonomous and forget up and down. This is called spiritual and yogic life.

There is up & down in everybody’s life. Many people pray GOD to not to face problem, but this is not the right attitude. In ‘Gitanjali’, Rabindranath Tagore has written -‘Bipade ami raksha karo e nuhe mor prarthana, bipade aami najen kari bhay…'(I don’t fear problem, problem should come in my life. But O God,please give me that capacity to overcome the problem). Doctor only gives medicine, it is the God who heals patient. Failure is the pillar of success for those who use learnt lessons. We can get peace if we surrender before GOD unconditionally. It is said in Gita (chapter-18)-“sarva dharman parityajya maamekam saranam braja, aham twam sarvapapebhyo mokshayisyami ma sochah”.

    Respected Dear Kaka,
No doubt everybody should have the courage to face any sort of problems in life which itself will lead to the future. Only the good will survive because of self confidence.

  6. Purnima Panda says:

    Pranam kaka,

Sometimes the only way to learn the lessons in life and to make us better is only by suffering and failure. Success and failures are part of life , so it is best we accept and learn from it. Most people only learn the value of something by loosing them. Faith in ourselves and in God is the key element for every success in life.

    Sir,
    Namaskar.

This article by yourself is really fantastic. Your all articles are experimental as well as learnable for the society. The most important thing in this era is how to face the critical period of life. Some people think it is my bhagya ( luck ) but you sir handled the most important and critical period of your life smoothly with full efforts without leaving the incidence to proceed as per bhagya. At the old age post retired persons usually spend their most of the time in a negative thought. But really I thought that your time management and handling the problem smoothly is only due to the blessing of Shree Shirdi Sai Baba. Sir, your blessing towards us is highly needed.

    Sir,
    Namaskar.

I read the article which is really an inspiring article for the society. Your realization of life is very practical which helps us to lead happy life. Your high level of thought and experience is reflected through the article published by you. However the span of life is very short. Every body should follow the path of spirituality. One proverb in Odia:-
    “Gale pachhe jau jiba,
    Jaha heba dekha jiba,
    Girishikhe laya rakhi
    chalibi Mukara.”

Your article is very nice, appreciable and learnable.
